New Sewerage Connections

As part of the scheme, it is necessary for us to install a temporary priority system for traffic on Belle Vue Crescent.  This commenced on Monday 8 July, and it is anticipated this work will take approximately 3 weeks.  We need to do this to make the new sewerage connection into the existing mains.

We do apologise in advance for the partial road closure, but it is not possible for this work to be carried out whilst the road is being fully used.  We will endeavour to complete the works as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation during these essential works.

Thursday, 18 April 2013

With the foundation and private drainage works complete to 3 of the 4 blocks, the substructure brickwork is underway with Block 1 virtually complete. Once the substructure brickwork is in place, the beam and block floor can then be installed.

Tuesday, 9 April 2013

Site has made good progress this week, although only a short week, the foundations to 3 of the 4 blocks have progressed well. The sub-structure block work is still due to start next week whilst the foundations will continue. Drainage and ducting to the underside of the blocks will also be available for the ground worker to start over the coming days.

Wednesday, 3 April 2013

A slow week at on site this week due to the recent heavy snow.

Unfortunately, due to the depth of the snow the ground workers were unable to get to site for the first couple of days, and then they were unable to carry out any productive work for the last couple of days before the Easter break.

With improved weather due after Easter, progress should be made with the continuation of the foundations ahead of the bricklayers starting with the work to the underside of the foundations.

A frustrating week, for the first one of Spring…..!

Tuesday, 2 April 2013

With trenches now excavated, concrete is being poured to form the strip footing foundations.
With the abnormal amount of snow we've seen recently, work on site has suffered delays. Hopefully we'll be back on track after the Easter break

Friday, 22 March 2013

This week has seen the start of the ground-works on site. Excavations to 3 of the blocks has started with some of the foundations having already been concreted. Whilst the works progress at Belle Vue there is another contractor carrying out works to an adjacent property which means that Wates have a shared access onto site so additional coordination is required.
The Wates site team will be meeting regularly with the other contractors to try to ensure that all deliveries, vehicle and pedestrian movements are closely monitored and coordinated to ensure a safe working environment at all times. The excavation works for the block foundations will continue with drainage installation closely following over the next few weeks.

Tuesday, 19 March 2013

Here we can see the site as it currently stands, completely remediated to the relevant formation levels, areas stoned up where required, fencing to the whole perimeter, now ready for foundation works to commence.

The site compound, waiting to receive power and water which is due early next week.

A panoramic view of the whole site, with welfare cabin being utilised for the moment until temporary water and power is available.

Ground works are due to start w/c 18th March with excavating the Block foundations.

Hoarding and site set-up is almost complete so site activity should soon increase.

Monday, 11 March 2013

This week has seen the delivery of the site accommodation and the installation of the water and electric service ducting onto site.

At first appearance, it seems that little progress has been made... however the canteen and welfare facilities are an important part of the site set-up process...!

Monday, 4 March 2013

The large trees at the front of the site have gone and the land has now been cleared and stoned-up ready for excavating the foundations. The site cabins are due on site this week with temporary power and electricity to them to follow. Over the next couple of weeks the ground-workers will be starting digging out for the foundations and the drainage to the plots. The outline of the blocks will soon become evident as the foundations are concreted.

Monday, 18 February 2013

Work has finally started on the latest Kirklees site. The excavators have moved onto site to begin the general site strip of the existing trees, bushes and ground to form the shape of the blocks, access roads and parking areas. Temporary site cabins will be arriving on site over the coming weeks to provide the set-up for the duration of the work.
